Real Wedding | McKenzie & Ben at Highland Manor!

Updated: Apr 17, 2022

A beautiful November day dawned bright and cloudless for McKenzie & Ben's wedding at Highland Manor! The couple chose a morning wedding and treated their guests to a delicious assortment of breakfast foods from Dubsdread Catering, once the vows had been said. Let's take a look!

Highland Manor offers unique and comfortable spaces for both parties to get ready. The groom's side usually prepare in the room off the main hallway, which features a pool table and plenty of space for large groups. The bride's side typically prepares in the suite of room upstairs, featuring the turret room and large open space for the various hair and makeup artists to do their thing (and a great view of the grounds)! This is always the best time to get photos of the gorgeous details each couple decides to include, and Jamie Leigh Photography captured these details beautifully!

Soon it was time to walk down the aisle, and as always the massive oak tree that is the centerpiece of the Highland Manor grounds played host to the proceedings. The iconic moss-draped tree swayed gently in the mid-morning breeze as the couple made their promises to each other.

One of Ben's groomsmen acted as the officiant, and the nuptials included a hand-fasting ceremony, apparently of Celtic origin, a show of the couple's commitment to each other and their marriage.

Once the vows had been said, the entire assemblage of guests and wedding party took the now-traditional picture on the expansive porch of the manor, before guests mingled on the lawn during cocktail hour and the wedding party and family took hundreds of photos.

Once the photos were taken, the guests proceeded to the Manor's main ballroom, to see the bride & groom's decor and vision brought to life! And of course, this being a breakfast wedding, the cake included dozens of donuts for the guests to enjoy!

After the entrances, dances and toasts, it was time to party the afternoon away, and another life's journey had begun on the iconic grounds of Highland Manor. We wish a lifetime of love, happiness and joy to McKenzie and Ben!

Thank you to these fabulous vendors for bringing their skill, attention to detail, and love of what they do to this amazing wedding:
