Recently we visited Timacuan Golf & Country Club in Lake Mary, where we were treated to a great tour by Alexys and Dana. The first thing you notice upon arriving to the property is a covered portico which would be perfect for your guests to receive valet service when arriving to your big day.
Beautiful double glass doors lead into the main building, where the bright, open and airy environment welcomes in your guests. You can utilize the television at the entrance, perfect for playing a video or slideshow celebrating your journey toward this day.
Guests can mingle in the main area, which can also double as your cocktail hour location, admiring your decor before heading to your preferred ceremony location.
Timacuan boasts several locations for you to choose from for your ceremony, the most popular of which is ground level, on the course with a lake and beautiful sunset in the background. This space can accommodate 60-75 guests and your cocktail hour can take place among the gorgeous oaks if you wish!
Other outdoor ceremony locations include the second level deck, where oak trees are your backdrop and you can gaze down the long beautiful fairway as you say your vows. This is ideal for bigger weddings that still want to take in the beautiful course view, with 150 guests able to fit on this terrace overlooking the grounds.
Two locations are available for those couples wishing to do their ceremony inside. The fireplace just to the right of the main entry is perfect for a cozy intimate ceremony, allowing for about 30 guests.
The Sunset Room, so named because it features the same gorgeous view of the lake and sunset, is the preferred indoor location, and can seat approximately 100 people to witness the nuptials. The glass-paneled doors close fully to separate the ceremony space from the reception space and allow for privacy while the reception is prepared.
Cocktail hour can be done outside on the terrace, but the most popular space is the main building area, inside where your guests first arrived. There is a beautiful bar perfect for the occasion, while the fireplace is filled with comfortable seating options for your guests to mingle while enjoying their drinks and appetizers. The long, wide space leaves plenty of room for high-top tables where your guests can gather while you concentrate on those amazing golden-hour photos with your wedding party and new partner!
The main reception space is perfect for elegant draping to close it off from the rest of the happenings, allowing for your guests to be surprised and awed by your decor when they first enter. Beautiful crystal chandeliers light the space and work in conjunction with the beamed ceilings to make the space feel large and voluminous, and giving you the perfect place to party the night away after the vows are said!
As for ready rooms, the wedding party actually gets to use the entirety of each locker room in the pro shop, and these are pretty amazing locker rooms! The men's ready room is up first, and it is absolutely huge, with all the amenities and activities the gents could possibly want while getting ready for the big day.
The ladies will enjoy their own luxurious space, with plenty of seating and large facilities that allow ample room for getting dressed, makeup and hair, etc.
